Principles of a Montessori Education
Montessori education reveals the child to be a lover of work and facilitates the child's need to learn by doing. An active self-discipline is developed within the child which, with appropriate guidance from the teacher, enables each child to reach his or her highest potential and achieve both inner discipline and satisfaction.
Dr. Maria Montessori believed that no human being is educated by another. He must achieve it himself or it will never be his. A truly educated individual is motivated from within by a natural curiosity and a love for knowledge. At Nature's Way we will cultivate your child's natural desire to learn. Our educators understand how children learn and develop and how they become self-disciplined, responsible, socially mature and competent. We take into account the changing characteristics and sensitivities of each developmental stage and integrate and interweave all curriculum areas. Children acquire knowledge through the use of scientifically designed concrete materials which enhance conceptual thinking and lead to abstraction. In a non-graded environment without rewards and punishments, self-motivation is fostered and individual differences are respected. Children learn at their own pace and are free to pursue a subject as deeply as they wish. Nature's Way provides quality education, which fosters a love of learning and promotes a high standard of academic excellence. |
